Milan Design Week 2026: Manufacturing in Motion

During Milan Design Week 2026, Racemark EU returned to Milan to take part in Manufacturing Circus, an exhibition by Baolab exploring the intelligence behind production — where materials, processes, and human creativity converge.

We presented our perspective on automotive interior craftsmanship. Rather than focusing solely on finished products, the exhibition highlighted the process of making — revealing how material, technique, and collaboration shape experience beyond the surface.

Racemark EU approached this through a lens inspired by the natural world. Mountains shift and evolve over time, shaping and shaped by the ecosystems within and around them.

In the same way, materials and processes are not static—they influence and are influenced, continuously shaping the experiences they create.

A topographic map of mountains inspires the design team.

A digitalization of the mountain design is made and programmed into the CNC tufting machine.

Yarn materials and colors are carefully selected.

The tufting machine is set to work.

The final product is hand finished.

A magnetic backing was applied to the design and it was cut into segments for an interactive experience.

To highlight this, Racemark showcased its CNC tufting process, emphasizing the intersection of craftsmanship, technology, and experience to bring a concept into a fully realized output.

The event created an opportunity to engage with leading designers and creative thinkers, reinforcing Racemark EU’s role as a Tier-1 partner bridging automotive engineering and contemporary design culture.
